KARATE KID 2 – Trailer (2023) With Jaden Smith & Jackie Chan
The Jaden/Jackie movie should be called Kung-Fu Kid as that is the martial art shown in the movie. I.m.o. Will Smith was probably living vicariously through his son when he produced and put his son in the movie and called it the misnomer Karate Kid.
Everyone who lived in the 80s wanted to be like Daniel and I’m pretty sure Will Smith loved the Daniel character as well. And The Kung Fu Kid probably didn’t have the same ring as the name; so to get people in the theaters they just decided to call it that.
The nods to the original were there and I don’t dislike the 2010 movie. It should have been called something else. If they are in the same universe, (as Smith produces Cobra Kai too) It would be nice to see Jackie or Jaden make an appearance or be referenced on the show.
