A 70-foot shark fight starring Jason Statham will make for a fairly entertaining movie. Warner Bros. produced the blockbuster monster movie The Meg in 2018 and turned it into a money-making machine in addition to pleasant entertainment. It seemed inevitable that we would get a sequel after The Meg made over $530 million worldwide on a $130 million budget, and we know you’re all very eager to see The Meg 2: The Trench.British director Ben Wheatley, who is more known for his work in offbeat indie films, will helm The Meg 2. Giving him this disaster film is an intriguing and rather out-of-left-field decision, but one that we wholeheartedly embrace.With dubious science and schlocky set pieces, the first film was a tongue-in-cheek action comedy that reached its climax with Jason Statham punching a shark in the nose.
The Meg 2 Plot
Anything may happen in the universe of The Meg, based on the first film, so we truly hope Ben Wheatley goes all out to increase the degree of craziness in the follow-up.
With The Meg 2 descending into The Trench, we expect some fairly terrifying sequences. The filmmaker has an excellent résumé filled with dark humor and horror movie aspects. But Wheatley is unsure if the film will be given an R rating.To yet, no real plot specifics have been disclosed, so we must make do with our imaginations. We see Jonas Taylor enter the sea for bout 2 with his enormous foe, and we know Jason Statham will definitely provide another usually endearing, vivacious, and ferocious performance.
It is unclear why Statham must fight the megalodon once more, and whether he will come across any more monsters. But given the ocean’s many unsolved secrets, we’re certain he’ll find plenty of terrifying enemies waiting for him there.
The Meg 2 Cast
Currently, Jason Statham, who plays the title character, is the only significant character making a comeback in The Meg 2. We all have a stake in this sequel for Stath and his character, Jonas Taylor, aside from the enormous shark, let’s face it.Alongside him, supporting actors Cliff Curtis, Sophia Cai, and Page Kennedy will return to the stage in their respective capacities as Mac, Meiying, and DJ.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, Rose is unquestionably the biggest name left off the sequel cast list. It wouldn’t surprise us if she returned to play Jaxx.
