Alongside Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, and others, the actor previously boarded the global blockbuster franchise’s tenth edition.
In the next hit sequel Fast X, Jason Momoa has hinted that his villain may have a gender-bending edge.
Momoa described the villain he’ll play in the action movie focused on cars as “evil, weird, and androgynous” on Tuesday to Entertainment Tonight. “He’s incredibly amusing and sadistic. It’s really strange. What fun! I’ve not recently played a villain.”
Momoa joined the cast of the movie alongside returning franchise stars Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Jordana Brewster. Momoa is slated to debut the final season of his Apple TV+’s See on Friday. About his function, not much is known.
The 10th entry in the franchise, which also stars Rita Moreno, Helen Mirren, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron, will see Theron return as the diabolical Cipher.
The project was supposed to be directed by veteran series director Justin Lin for Universal Pictures, but he withdrew just days into the April filming. He was replaced by French director Louis Leterrier in the beginning of May, but Lin will continue to serve as a producer.
In a statement at the time, Lin remarked, “Over 10 years and five movies, we have been able to shoot the best performers, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.” “As the son of Asian immigrants, I feel particularly gratified to have contributed to creating the most diverse film franchise in history. I will always be appreciative of the studio, cast, and crew at Fast for their help and for including me in the Fast family.”
The current release date for Fast X is May 19, 2023.
